About The Show
The HnK Video Game Experience is the creation of the founders, HolliwoodKole and Kleerfyre, from their passion for gaming. The show came about one random spring morning when Holliwood and Kleer were having one of their normal drive to work calls. During their discussion of a game, which was probably over Destiny as that was their big game they were into at the time, Kleer said to Holliwood "Have you ever thought of doing a podcast on gaming and recording our conversations about what we are playing?" Soon after that call both of them were ordering their first mics and headphones to record with and the rest is history!
The show covers gaming from retro to modern and mainly console gaming, although at times, the show does touch on some mobile and pc gaming. It has also evolved to include pop culture that surrounds gaming and the geeky/nerd culture. You might notice when listening to the show that there is no profanity used and when there is a slip up, it is bleeped. With the founders having families, they wanted to create something that they feel is safe for any and everyone to listen to and not have to worry if your child walks in while listening and hears something they shouldn't. So feel safe to listen to the show with the volume all the way up!
If you look around the site and listen to the show, you might hear the team always saying "keep gaming pure." This is the motto Holliwood and Kleer live by and they always strive to embody that in all their gaming exploits. They are always trying to spread the message that gaming should be something that is enjoyed by all and is accessible. Nothing beats the feel of that cartridge or disc of your favorite game in your hands that you can drop in your console and play it anytime you want. The only way the next generation of gamers will be able to experience true, pure gaming is preserving physical consoles, cartridges, and discs and to push the industry to keep making physical media.
